The Monorail

The monorail is a variety of rail transport. The first monorail in the world was created in 1820 in Russia. At present time the monorail connects many important places in Moscow, such as Timiryazevskaya station, the TV centre, underground station VDNH. One of the most popular tourist destinations of the monorail is Ostankino tower in Moscow

Working hours: from 7:00 am to 23:00 pm daily.

The cost of one trip ticket for 2011 is 28 rubles; ticket for 1 month with a limit is no more than 70 - 1230 rubles; tickets without limiting the number of visits for schoolchildren, college students, school students and students cost 350 rub. For children up to 7 years, as well as for the passengers with social card of Moscow ( retired or disable citizens ) Moscow Underground is free of charge.
Tickets of Moscow underground on the monorail transport are more expensive.
A large part of the citizens get to its destination by land transport. In "rush hour" buses, trams, trolleybuses are overcrowded.

On all kinds of ground transport you can buy tickets either in the transport (it will cost you a little more), or in the booth of "Mosgortrans", which is located close to the underground station and some of the stops.
The cost of a ticket for Mosgortrans (buses, trams, trolley-buses, minibuses Mosgortrans) depends on the number of trips.
